Bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman passes away at 42

Indian Bodybuilder Varinder Singh Gorman Passes Away

Varinder Singh Gorman, a prominent Indian bodybuilder, died at the age of 42 earlier this week following what is said to be a cardiac arrest during surgery.

According to reports from an Indian newspaper, Gorman had torn a muscle in his chest and had been receiving treatment at Fortis Hospital in Amritsar. There were indications that he had been dealing with shoulder pain prior to this incident.

Gorman was well-known in the bodybuilding community. He notably earned the title of Mr. India in 2009 and finished second in the Mr. Asia competition that same year. He was also recognized by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who selected him to promote health products in Asia. Gorman made history as the first Indian to obtain an International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro card.

Over his career, he appeared in several films, including “Tiger 3,” which achieved considerable box office success, grossing around 466 million rupees, or about $52 million. He also participated in the Arnold Classic competition.

In a heartfelt statement, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, a senior Congress leader, expressed his sorrow over Gorman’s unexpected passing. He remarked that Gorman’s dedication and achievements had brought pride to Punjab on a global scale and offered condolences to Gorman’s family.

Gorman stood at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 287 pounds at his peak, showcasing an impressive physique that inspired many in the fitness community.
