Incident Involving Transgender Student and Campus Police Goes Viral

A body camera video has quickly gained attention online, showcasing a transgender student at the University of Central Florida expressing outrage towards campus police for “misgendering” him before being taken away in handcuffs.

The footage features 27-year-old Jarrett Vick, who sports blue hair, yelling at officers responding to an unrelated incident at a campus building. His anger is palpable right from the start. Vick can be heard saying, “Why are you letting those pigs go? They shouldn’t be here.” The video was recorded in February 2025, though it was just recently made public.

The officer, attempting to de-escalate the situation, requested that Vick lower his voice, warning him that he could be handcuffed. This only prompted more cursing from Vick towards the officer.

“Damn it, come on. Are you threatening me? I’m threatening you,” he retorted, which led the officer to call for backup. As tensions rose, Vick insisted on the use of correct pronouns, repeatedly yelling, “She! She! Please tell me the correct pronouns!”

In a bid to regain control, the officer brandished pepper spray and instructed Vick to calm down. When he continued to escalate, the officer used the pepper spray on him.

University officials stepped in to resolve the growing conflict. Vick shouted, “Run! Fuck you! Fuck you, cop!” as university staff began to withdraw from the scene.

He then amplified his protests about being misgendered and pleaded with staff to correct the officer, insisting it was causing him significant distress.

Ultimately, Vick was taken into custody. However, he reportedly attempted to kick and swing at the officers, resulting in another officer utilizing a taser. The footage concludes with Vick being secured in the back seat of a police car.

This peculiar event reportedly unfolded on February 5, 2025. In a subsequent interview, Vick described feeling “extremely harassed by the police” and attributed his ongoing “harassment from the media” to their actions.

Vick, hailing from Treasure Island, Florida, faced charges of assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct following the incident. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and court records indicate his case was closed as of January 16, though it remains under scrutiny.

Interestingly, his arrest record lists him as male, and a mug shot released shows him without his blue wig.

As of now, there has been no immediate response from either the Orange County Sheriff’s Office or the University of Central Florida Police Department regarding the incident.
