Florida Mother Arrested After Disturbance at Youth Football Game
A Florida mother was taken into custody on Saturday following a disturbance during a youth football game. This incident, which allegedly involved an adult kicking her child, has raised significant concerns.
Lenny Lambert was apprehended at a Pop Warner game held at Brooks Park in Fort Myers. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, she faced child abuse charges after reportedly kicking a juvenile player. Authorities noted that her arrest came without further injuries or any resistance towards the officers.
Security at the park responded to a fight that erupted among players during the game. Review of video evidence showed Lambert entering the field and kicking one of the young players, leading to her arrest.
In an attempt to justify her actions, Lambert claimed that she reacted because a child had hit her with a helmet. However, investigators indicated that this assertion wasn’t backed by any evidence collected during the incident.
Body camera footage from the arrest revealed a heated exchange between Lambert and law enforcement. In one instance, Lambert questioned, “So you’re mad that they hit me?” To which an officer responded, “I’m angry that an adult attacked a child.” Lambert’s refusal to comply with the arrest orders escalated the situation further.
The video concluded with a chaotic scene as officers worked to handcuff her amidst her protests. It’s worth noting that just last month, another Florida mother faced legal issues after allegedly abandoning her 12-year-old daughter at a bar in Universal CityWalk while she went out drinking. Authorities charged Amanda Thorp with child neglect in that case.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office did not provide immediate comments regarding Lambert’s arrest or the ongoing investigation surrounding the incident.
