The Biden administration is in trouble after Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) called for the resignation of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm.
Hawley called her the face of “institutionalized corruption” in the department. Because the Secretary of Energy has a well-documented history of holding stock without proper disclosure.
“I just want to know who is really running the Department of Energy,” Hawley angrily said during a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing on Tuesday. “Is it you or the giant corporation whose stock you own that benefits you?”
And Holly had a receipt.
“I asked you point-blank, ‘Do you own individual stocks?’ And you told me, ‘No,'” Hawley recalled. “Secretary, you said no. In fact, you repeated that to me three times. No, no, no. That turned out to be a lie. You do indeed own multiple individual stocks. However, he failed to report to this committee for several months.
“Why did you mislead this committee?” he asked, and Ms. Granholm said she believed she had sold all the individual shares and that was “not a lie.”
Hawley then reminded Granholm that she was under oath and pulled out a timeline of what she actually did with the stock, which was not what she claimed.
“It is outrageous that people use dark money to attend conferences and events that are funded by foreign billionaires in an attempt to influence our politics. This has to change and frankly and you should leave,” Hawley said.
“She lied to the committee and is upset about being called out on the carpet about it,” says a shocked Pat Gray.
“Yes, because she promotes an equity policy,” says Keith Marinak.
