On Saturday, two buses crashed around 7am, killing at least 37 people.
One of the buses involved in the fatal collision was on their way to Oruro, one of Latin America's most important carnival celebrations.
The local government said both drivers survived the crash, according to the report.
Police said one of the drivers was reportedly seen by a passenger consuming alcohol.
Average 1,400 people die each year, so rural Bolivian roads are the most deadly in the world.
