President Trump stated his belief that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible for the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy, and he did not act alone.
During an interview with Outkick Radio’s host Clay Travis, Trump was asked about the release of thousands of files related to the assassination.
“Do you think Oswald killed JFK personally?” Travis asked.
“I do, and I always felt that,” Trump replied. “Of course, he… helped.”
The Justice Department has long maintained that Oswald acted alone in the assassination, but for decades, there have been questions about whether another person or multiple people were involved.
Oswald was charged with Kennedy’s assassination but denied responsibility for the shooting. He was killed two days after the assassination in 1963.
Trump’s theory that Oswald may have had an accomplice was not confirmed in the release of the files, but he pointed out that the files’ contents were “somewhat apparent” and could be “a good thing.”
“I don’t think there’s anything that will crush the earth,” Trump said.
