Bondi Takes a Swing at CNN Analyst: ‘Ratings Are in Freefall!’

Bondi knocks CNN analyst: 'Ratings are plummeting'

Attorney General Pam Bondy criticized CNN during a segment regarding its choice not to investigate government officials involved in group discussions about signals leaked to major journalists this month, including sensitive information.

In the CNN segment, legal expert Ellie Honig described Bondy as “Meer” and questioned the impartiality of her leadership at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“There is no sign that she will initiate an investigation here,” Honig remarked. “Additionally, when she stands for confirmation as an AG, a key worry is whether she can maintain her independence.”

Bondy addressed the matter during her appearance on Fox News on Thursday.

“Yes, they feature that kind of individuals on TV, which is why their ratings are declining,” she stated. “I could not care less about their opinions.”

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham remarked to Bondy, “This isn’t your matter, an inspector general’s investigation or the possibility of a council probe.”

“We, and… every intelligence reporter involved, are confident in that,” the Attorney General replied, as noted in the clip. This is highlighted by MediaIte.

Bondy discussed the administration’s intent to address leaks of classified information and attempted to downplay the leaked signal chats.

“Initially, it was sensitive information, unclassified, released carelessly,” she told reporters this week. “And what we are discussing is that it was a very successful operation.”

Her comments come after Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg publicly shared a message on Wednesday that was mistakenly included in a discussion where senior Trump administration officials talked about strike strategies in Yemen.
