Boston College ex-mates attend Gabe Perreault’s Rangers debut

The Boston College hockey player who challenged TD Garden to watch his former teammate Ryan Leonard make his NHL debut with the Capitals on Tuesday night was attending other former teammate Gabe Perot, just like he did the same with the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

The Rangers prospects were Drew Forteskew and Canadiens goalkeeper prospect Jacob Fowler, one of the conditions for eight teammates in Boston and New York.

Along with his BC teammates, Perot had both his parents, brother and sister, attending his first official NHL game.

Perreault is fresh from the season-ending loss at first Boston University, which ended its season to No. 3 seed Denver on Sunday in the NCAA Manchester Regional Final.

“It's definitely a fast turnaround,” he said. “It was obviously a few crazy days, but I'm just trying to flip the switch as quickly as possible and ready to help my team.”

The 19-year-old made his NHL debut in the second line of the Rangers next to Alexis Lafreniere and JT Miller.

“It's so much fun,” Perot said of his debut. “Playing in this building is something I've never done before and it was unrealistic to finally be able to do it.”
