Boxer Kie Shawn Davis in Altercation After Brother’s Fight
In an unexpected turn of events, professional boxer Kie Shawn Davis found himself in a confrontation with the man who had just defeated his brother, Kelvin, during a match at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The Davis family, including junior welterweight Kelvin and welterweight Keon, had anticipated a night of boxing and celebration, as they hailed from the local area.
However, tensions escalated after Kelvin became upset with Nahir Albright during their co-main event fight. This led to an argument behind the scenes involving both Keon and Kie Shawn with Albright.
Video footage captured the melee, showcasing a significant altercation that took place after the fight. Albright, attending a press conference afterward, appeared with facial injuries that were not seen during the bout.
Albright described the incident, claiming he was “jumped” by Keyshawn and Keon after his victory over Kelvin. “They started walking to me, put their heads on mine, then grabbed me,” he explained to reporters, adding that he nearly retaliated. “Then I was about to swing, my team and guys, they grabbed everything with Keyshaun, and it was crazy.”
Regarding legal action, Albright mentioned he was still deliberating with his team about the possibility of pressing charges.
Meanwhile, Kelvin took to social media to apologize to Albright, refuting the notion that his brother had ambushed him. “On behalf of DB3, we apologize for the high tensions. We let our emotions get the best of us, but we’ve learned from the experience and aim to be more professional moving forward.”
There’s been a history between Albright and Keyshawn; they previously fought in 2023, where Keyshawn won by unanimous decision. Notably, Keyshawn’s weekend had already been marred by difficulties, having missed weight and consequently losing the WBO lightweight title when his scheduled match against Edwin de los Santos was canceled.
