A 6-year-old boy drowned at a New Jersey day camp Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The boy was found unresponsive in the pool at Liberty Lake Day Camp in Mansfield Township around 2 p.m., according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
He was pulled from the water by lifeguards and camp staff administered CPR.
The boy was taken by ambulance to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly, where he was pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office.

“We are completely devastated and heartbroken,” camp owner Andy Pritikin said in a letter to camp families. 6abc.com.
“Our thoughts are with the campers’ families, friends and loved ones during this most difficult time and we respect their privacy at this time,” he added.
The boy’s identity has not been released. Authorities said an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Post has reached out to Liberty Lake for comment.
In his letter, Pritikin told camp residents that the facility has “three nurses on staff, 25 first aid/CPR/AED certified lifeguards and Mansfield First Aid is located just down the street.”
“Our goal has always been to do everything in our power to protect the campers and staff in our care,” he wrote.
The 60-acre campground, which offers summer programs for children from kindergarten through eighth grade, has been in operation for more than 20 years, according to its website.
