Charlie Rosenberger, who currently attends Marissa, reportedly began playing women's sports at a young age. According to a Reduxx investigation, court documents show that Rothenberger's mother applied to Hennepin County District Court to change her birth certificate shortly after turning nine.

The mother's petition was approved, and her son was issued a new birth certificate that changed gender to “female” and changed from “Charlie Dean” to “Marissa.”
