Investigation in Arizona Woman’s Disappearance
Authorities have arrested the new boyfriend of a missing Arizona woman, following the discovery of her vehicle, which was badly damaged and contained blood, as revealed in court documents.
Isabella Comas, 21, was last seen on January 11 after leaving a friend’s house in Avondale to meet her boyfriend, 37-year-old Tommy Rodriguez. Interestingly, this was just a day after the couple had reportedly been involved in a significant argument.
Rodriguez has a troubling past—he was sentenced to 18 years for second-degree murder after a robbery incident that occurred when he was 15. Moreover, he was still on probation for stalking an ex-girlfriend, having threatened her with a machete and a hammer back in 2020, according to official reports.
The day after Comas went missing, her cell phone—tracking turned off—was located at a recycling center, abandoned. Shortly thereafter, her red Hyundai Sonata was also found, left unattended in Phoenix, with evidence suggesting tampering: the passenger seat and trunk lining were torn apart, and there were blood stains present.
In addition to the blood splatter, police reported finding garbage bags, a gas cylinder, and a tarpaulin inside the vehicle.
Rodriguez, who emerged as a person of interest in Comas’ case, reportedly evaded questions about her whereabouts during police inquiries. On January 15, he was charged with vehicle theft and criminal damage after surveillance footage and cellphone data linked him to driving her car the day after she vanished.
Friends of Comas informed investigators that she and Rodriguez had been in a relationship for only a few months and had experienced a major dispute right before her disappearance.
The police are continuing their efforts to locate Comas, describing her as a Hispanic woman, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing around 110 pounds, and noted for her distinct pink hair. When last seen, she was wearing a loose-fitting navy blue shirt, blue pants with white stripes on the sides, and sandals.
