Bradley Beal Joins Los Angeles Clippers After Departure from Phoenix Suns

Bradley Beal’s time with the Phoenix Suns has come to a close, and he’s making a move that puts him right into the thick of competition in the Western Conference.

The three-time All-Star shooting guard has reached an agreement to join the Los Angeles Clippers. It looks like he’ll be signing a two-year deal worth around $11 million, as reported recently.

Interestingly, this deal includes player options, which could set him up to be a highly sought-after free agent in 2026 if he opts for a trade out.

Heading into a team that already features stars like Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, Beal is certainly not stepping into a lackluster lineup. The Clippers are also busy enhancing their roster, having added veteran center Brook Lopez and making trades to bring in fresh talent.

Beal’s experience in Phoenix was, well, underwhelming. The Suns actually let him speak with other teams because things just weren’t clicking. After some discussions, they both agreed it was time for him to explore other options.

Other teams, including the Heat, Bucks, Timberwolves, and Lakers, showed interest in Beal, reportedly engaging in talks with his agents over the last few weeks.

From the Suns’ perspective, the arrangement means they’ll get approximately $13.9 million from the remaining $110 million tied to Beal over the last two years of his contract. They won’t be burdened by the leftover salary for the upcoming seasons.

Throughout his stint with the Suns, Beal averaged 17.6 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. However, the challenges his team faced and injuries limited his contributions—he only appeared in 106 of 164 games during that time.

Before joining the Suns, Beal spent 11 seasons with the Washington Wizards after being drafted in 2012, building a solid reputation in the league.

Overall, this move may be the fresh start Beal needs, but it’s hard not to wonder how everything will unfold in the bustling landscape of NBA teams.
