Brandi Glanville’s Health Scare After TikTok Trend
Brandi Glanville, known from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” might be reconsidering her enthusiasm for TikTok trends after a recent mishap. She revealed that her attempts to treat a cold resulted in a visit to the emergency room.
Interestingly, the 53-year-old reality star originally sought medical attention for an entirely different issue—a clove of garlic stuck in her ear.
On her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered,” she chatted with co-host James Maas about how her Easter was derailed by her son’s cold and a particularly spicy vegetable mishap. Glanville shared, “It was Easter, so I stuck a clove of garlic in my ear. I thought it might help my cold.” She had been infected after her son, Jake, sneezed in her face.
Though her son’s cold had cleared up, she mentioned, “I told him to cover his mouth when sneezing,” but then things took a turn for her. “Then I caught his cold, and because he had garlic in his ear, I didn’t do much that Easter.”
She added, “Every time I tried to remove it myself, it only got worse. So, I ended up in the emergency room.” Glanville advised against taking health advice from social media platforms: “It’s online. Don’t listen to people on TikTok or Instagram.”
While her method backfired, her son Mason had better luck, saying, “I put it in my nostril and it worked.” Brandi, on the other hand, had a pretty painful experience: “I tried it in my nostrils and it stung too much so I moved it to my ears. After a laser treatment, it felt like my skin was burning.”
Earlier, Glanville suspected she may have contracted a parasite during a trip to Morocco in 2023, leading to facial paralysis. Doctors initially attributed her issues to stress-induced angioedema, but the real source remained unclear. “It could be a parasite, but we’re not sure,” she explained.
This health scare is part of a broader narrative for Glanville. Following a stressful move in October 2023, she had a collapse and was hospitalized. Her son even called 911 when her condition worsened: “My whole face was swollen, my throat was closing up.” Despite being told it was stress-induced angioedema, she had her doubts.
In February, the reality star discovered that ruptured breast implants from when she was 20 years old were behind her ongoing medical challenges. It’s a sobering thought, as Glanville had spent over $70,000 trying to answer a medical mystery that seemingly altered her daily life and appearance.
