Brandon Gill Explains How Federal Authorities Will Tackle Funding for Antifa on Two Fronts

Congress Targets Antifa Funding

Representative Brandon Gill from Texas announced on Thursday that Congress, along with federal law enforcement, will engage in a “two-front operation” aimed at tackling organizations that finance Antifa.

During an appearance on “The Dan Bongino Show,” FBI Director Kash Patel indicated that the Bureau is investigating financial channels linked to Antifa, suggesting this could prompt new enforcement actions against supporters of the movement. Gill mentioned on “Evening Edit” that he is planning a hearing to look into whether certain nonprofits are misusing their tax-exempt status to channel funds into antifa-related violent actions.

“Are you basically pointing the finger at George Soros’ group?” asked host Elizabeth McDonald. “Some major networks are funding these Antifa riots. Why not name names? Will the Department of Justice or the Treasury Department conduct an audit and potentially revoke their tax-exempt status?”

“Yes, of course,” Gill responded. “That’s the objective. If these organizations are taking advantage of tax benefits while engaging in political activities unlawfully, we need to revoke that status. We want to make this very clear and public. The aim of these hearings is to gather information for that decision. Additionally, if there are organizations funding illegal activities in the U.S., I think accountability should include prison time.”

Gill elaborated that the strategy focuses on both illicit political coordination and financial backing for unlawful activities. “This is a broader criminal conspiracy that requires attention,” he noted. “So, this is a two-pronged effort for us. We’re not just targeting those involved in illegal political actions; we’re also addressing those funding various illegal activities, including insurrection, and they must be held responsible.”

The Headwaters Justice Foundation has contributed over $3.3 million to activist groups involved in protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, with grant records revealing financing linked to several anti-ICE organizing activities.

Moreover, the Open Society Foundations, established by George Soros, has allocated tens of millions to progressive organizations that support activist initiatives nationwide. Records indicate significant contributions to groups backing protests in various states, including a $2 million donation to the Sunrise Movement, which has connections to the Stop Cop City/Save Atlanta Forests coalition associated with Antifa-related extremism.
