Rep. Brandon Gill Warns of Impact if Democrats Regain House Control
Representative Brandon Gill (R-TX) has expressed concern that if the Democrats take control of the U.S. House, it would halt investigations into agencies involved in birth tourism, which assist foreign nationals in giving birth in the United States.
In a recent post on X, Gill highlighted that with Democratic leadership, “the gavels on our committees will be used to investigate the people removing illegal aliens” instead of continuing inquiries into these birth tourism operations that he believes undermine U.S. sovereignty.
“If Democrats take back the House,” he stated, “the focus will shift from investigating these companies to scrutinizing those who are enforcing immigration laws.”
John Binder from Breitbart News reported in May that Gill was spearheading a House Oversight Committee investigation into these birth tourism agencies. His “Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses” has previously reached out to several companies in Florida, Texas, and California, asking for documentation related to their childbirth packages.
According to earlier reports, Gill’s task force contacted four specific agencies: Have My Baby in Miami, Florida; Maternity Services of El Paso; Doctores Para Ti in El Paso; and an OB/GYN clinic run by Dr. Athiya Javid in San Diego. They are seeking details on how foreign clients are coached on obtaining temporary visas to enter the U.S., specifically when their aim is to give birth.
In a communication to executives at Have My Baby in Miami, Gill noted that while giving birth in the U.S. is not inherently illegal, any misrepresentation regarding a person’s intentions when applying for a temporary visitor visa constitutes a violation of existing laws and can be classified as visa fraud.
This statement follows Gill’s September appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Will Cain Show, where he commented that “Democrats will impulsively side with illegal aliens, no matter the facts are.”
