They say a first impression is a lasting impression, but Atlanta Braves prospect Francisco Vicioso took it to a new level with his terrible performance.
Vicioso has allowed 20 earned runs and 35 wild pitches in three professional innings.
He also walked 28 times and had four hits at bats.
If you watch some of his pitches, it almost looks like he’s throwing a wiffle ball because of how fast it moves.
Additionally, away from the pitcher’s mound, the 19-year-old committed three errors on three defensive plays.
Over the past two seasons, Vicioso has appeared in 10 games in the Dominican Summer League, posting a 60.00 ERA during that time.
His eye-catching performances and appearances have left social media users baffled.
Someone wrote to X“This isn’t real. Why did I leave him there?”
Add another one“An ERA of 60…is that even possible?”
Some people made fun of the situation, with many saying things like, “He’s the worst player ever,” “It’s time for him to retire,” and “Is this the first time he’s ever thrown a baseball?”
“This is how you develop an elite catcher.” One pointed out.

Last year, Vicioso pitched in three games and only got one out.
He also walked 11 times, pitched 17 wild pitches and gave up 14 runs for an ERA of 351.00.
The Braves, who are second in the National League with a 54-43 record, are scheduled to play their seventh straight day of baseball.
They’ll face the Mets at Citi Field after four straight home games.
And, judging by the recent social media furore, it looks like they’re daring enough to let Vicioso step up.
