“We knew we would be celebrating a victory for South American women’s football and women’s football,” said Brazilian Football Confederation President Edonardo Rodríguez. “Without vanity, we are confident that we can achieve the best World Cup for women.”

FIFA’s technical assessment released last week gave Brazil a slight advantage, giving it 4 out of 5 points, compared to 3.7 points for bids from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. The race was reduced to two events last month after the United States and Mexico withdrew their joint candidacy for the 2031 Games. FIFA president Gianni Infantino said Brazil would be the “best Women’s World Cup in history.”

Infantino also told parliament that a potential legal dispute over FIFA’s plans to host a 32-team Men’s Club World Cup next summer was a “futile debate”. FIFA faces legal action from the World League Association, chaired by Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, and the world players’ association FIFPRO if it does not reschedule the tournament scheduled to be held in the United States in June. It is said that there is sex. Next July.

Infantino said that despite the expansion of the Club World Cup, FIFA still hosts “approximately 1% of the world’s top club matches” and that “1-2% of the matches hosted by FIFA worldwide “We are funding football in the United States,” he said. The revenue we generate doesn’t just go to a few clubs in one country. The revenue we generate goes to 211 countries around the world.

“There is no other organization that does something like this. So with these numbers (which can of course be checked and calculated) we can stop the really pointless and sterile debate and ask what we have to do. I hope that we will focus on what our mission is: to organize events and competitions and to develop football, because 70% of you, the FIFA member associations, are from FIFA. Because you can’t play football without the resources directly provided to you.”
