Raegan’s New Chapter: From Lecturer to Speaker

Raegan, Australia’s most famous breakdancer, has revealed an unexpected new path after resigning from her teaching position at a leading university.

Rachel Gunn, commonly known as Ray Gunn, is now offering her services as a speaker, host, MC, panelist, and even for “Fireside Chats.”

On Wednesday, she shared a brief message on her Instagram Story: “It’s official.”

Alongside this, she provided a link to her newly launched website, which features an intriguing image of her riding a spinning wheel. Notably, the cursor on the site takes the form of her well-known kangaroo dance moves.

The website describes Gunn as a “speaker, host (and) conversation starter,” capable of discussing a range of subjects such as resilience, mental health, and the complexities of “going viral while staying grounded.”

“Dr. Rachel Gunn (Ray Gunn) brings energy, insight, and positivity to every stage,” the site highlights.

Since the Paris Olympics, she has gained significant attention online and aims to leverage her experience from elite competitions to delve into themes like resilience, creativity, and mental health.

Gunn promotes herself as an inspiring figure for various events—whether you’re in need of a keynote speaker or a workshop facilitator.

As for her fees, it remains uncertain how much she charges for her appearances.

Earlier this year, she launched a business through Cameo, offering personalized videos for around $70, available on her website as well.

In a separate Instagram Story, Gunn shared a clip from 10News+ prior to an interview, confirming that she is not stepping away from breakdancing.

“I’m not retired. I’m part of this scene,” she stated emphatically.

She added, “I’m not making any money from the Olympics. I’m a human being, you understand? Everyone, please calm down a little.”

“The world is a scary place and there’s a lot going on. I don’t think you need to react so fiercely to what someone says or how someone dances. Everyone just needs to be calm. Where did all that coldness go in Australia?”

Gunn gained international recognition after representing Australia in her breakdancing debut at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, making headlines when she received a score of zero for her unique performance, which featured a jumping kangaroo, a wriggling snake, and a sprinkler imitation. This became a viral sensation and led to her being the subject of numerous memes worldwide.
