'Breaking Bad' Actor Giancarlo Esposito Claims It's 'Time for Change' in Anti-ICE Speech

Giancarlo Esposito Calls for Revolution Against ICE

Giancarlo Esposito, known for his role as Gus Fring in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, shared his views on the current state of affairs regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He expressed his thoughts during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival.

“It’s time for a revolution — and they don’t even realize it’s what they’re starting,” Esposito remarked. “We must stand up. They can’t defeat us all. If everyone stands at the doorsteps of Putin, the Iranians, or even Washington, the result will be catastrophic, but some of us will emerge into a new world.” His comments reflect a sense of urgency about the situation.

Esposito described the issues as stemming from a “very insidious problem” in today’s society. He stated, “Some very wealthy old men are using their power to oppress their own people, creating a climate of civil war in the streets and fostering hatred, even teaching people how to use firearms. This is all preparation for a very insidious problem that is occurring globally. I feel compelled to speak out. We will not be displaced by ICE. That is not going to happen.”

As reported, Esposito wasn’t alone; several other celebrities also wore “ICE Out” pins to protest. This movement gained traction following the tragic shooting death of Alex Preti in Minneapolis.

The Dave Matthews Band expressed their horror, stating, “We’re horrified by the images coming out of Minneapolis. It’s excruciating to witness, and we can’t believe this is America.” They further claimed, “If ICE hadn’t been in Minneapolis, both Renee Nicole Good and Alex Preti would still be alive.”

In his own statement, actor John Stamos conveyed his concerns as well. “What I see from ICE is cruel. It doesn’t need much explanation. I trust what my eyes tell me!” he said. Stamos added, “When people are treated like threats instead of humans, something breaks. It’s disheartening to witness the hypocrisy in all this. The cycle keeps rolling, and we seem to move on as if nothing ever happened.”

He concluded with a reflective note, saying, “It feels increasingly wrong to remain silent. The bad guys seem to be winning lately. Perhaps the least we can do is not look away from these issues.”
