Raymond Cruz Arrested Over Parking Dispute
Raymond Cruz, known for his role as Tuco Salamanca in “Breaking Bad,” was arrested for allegedly spraying water on a girl during a minor parking disagreement, according to law enforcement and his upset agents.
The 60-year-old actor was taken into custody around 10:40 a.m. on Monday outside a residence in Los Angeles on misdemeanor battery charges.
His agent, Rafael Belco, expressed shock over the event, noting Cruz was “handcuffed and taken to prison.”
According to reports, the incident began when Cruz asked three women to move their white minivan, which he claimed was parked too close for him to wash his car. Belco recounted that Cruz had told them, “Now, move your car. You haven’t given me room, and it will get wet.”
When the women refused to budge, Cruz began cleaning his vehicle while one of them started recording. Belco later said that while still hosing down his car, some of the water inadvertently splashed onto the women’s vehicle.
Belco further expressed disbelief over the situation, emphasizing that Cruz has never been arrested before, despite portraying a police detective in previous roles. It appears that one of the women eventually called the police.
Officers suggested to TMZ that Cruz might have intentionally sprayed water on the girl, who was said to be the daughter of one of the women, although her age and extent of how wet she got remain unclear.
LAPD representative David Cuerle clarified that the incident was a confrontation involving the victims, noting that Cruz allegedly sprayed water. Cruz was released from custody shortly after 4 p.m. on the same day, with a court appearance scheduled for October 1.
No formal charges have yet been filed against Cruz, who resides with his wife, actress Shimi Mehta.
Despite the troubling experience, Cruz expressed gratitude towards the LAPD, with his agent highlighting how courteous and professional the officers were during the five hours he spent in custody.
