House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) demands Congress investigate the Trump administration’s actions.
Jeffries described the administration as “meanless” and a threat to national security, stating that Congress must get to the bottom of an incident involving a group chat discussing the Pentagon’s plans to attack Yemen.
“There should be a congressional investigation to understand what happened, why it happened, and how to prevent this kind of national security breach from happening again,” Jeffries said.
“This is reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous.”
Jeffries did not mention specific senior officials involved in the breach, but criticized President Trump for prioritizing loyalty over experience and talent, and characterised Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth as “the most unqualified person in American history to lead the Pentagon.”
“This whole Trump administration is full of annoying and incompetent companions,” Jeffries said.
