New York City's Democratic Mayor Eric Adams is expected to be indicted on federal corruption-related charges, multiple sources said.

“If I am charged, I am innocent.”
The mayor gave a summary statement He denied the charges.
“I knew that standing up for the people of New York would make me a target, and I did,” Adams wrote. “If charged, I am innocent and will fight the charges with all my heart and soul.”
In recent weeks, police have searched the homes of several of Adams' top aides, including Deputy Mayor Phil Banks and Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright. The cellphone of Adams' chief of staff, Timothy Pearson, was seized, and authorities searched the home of NYPD Commissioner Edward Cavan, who later resigned.
In February, Adams likened himself to Jesus Christ and said his critics were motivated by racism.
“Have you ever seen so much chocolate leading the way through New York City? And at the front of the line. Look who's here,” he said at the time. “This is representing the city. And that's why people hate me. Are you trying to understand why they hate me?”
