A letter from a lawyer representing Tucker Carlson accused Fox News of fraud and breach of contract just weeks after he left the cable news channel.
sauce told Axios The letter was sent to Fox News before Carlson posted on Twitter announcing that the show would continue in a new format on the popular social media platform.
By accusing Fox News of breach of contract, Carlson can allege that the network was in breach of contract before breaking the deal.
“Soon we will be bringing to Twitter a new version of the show that we have been doing for the past six and a half years,” he said in a video posted to Twitter.
“We’ll bring some other stuff. We’ll talk about that. But for now, we’re grateful to be here. Freedom of speech belongs to you.” It’s the main right,” he added. “Without it, you have no other.”
Carlson’s contract with Fox News runs until January 2025, which prevents him from working on new media outlets.
Another report said Carlson had floated the idea of hosting the presidential debate and had already discussed the possibility with former President Donald Trump.
