Jets’ Trade Speculations Ahead of Deadline
HERTFORDSHIRE, England — With the NFL trade deadline approaching on November 4, discussions surrounding potential trades for the Jets are heating up.
A frequent name in these trade talks has been running back Breece Hall. When asked about the speculation on Friday, he expressed his thoughts.
“I’ve been hearing about this for probably the last five months. At this point, it is what it is,” Hall noted. “I’m here. I want to stay here. I really enjoy being a New York Jet. But ultimately, I don’t have control over what happens next. I can only focus on my performance during games and how I conduct myself off the field.”
With Hall set to become a free agent come March, it’s unclear whether the Jets will attempt to re-sign him. If they choose not to, it could create interest from teams needing depth at running back.
However, losing Hall could leave the Jets even thinner at the position, especially since Braelon Allen is anticipated to be sidelined for two to three months due to a knee injury.
In his most recent game, Hall struggled with a fumble against the Cowboys, something he is actively trying to bounce back from.
“I was pretty upset about it. Nobody wants to fumble,” Hall explained. “But the team played well overall. This isn’t the end of the world for me. We just have to focus on next week and improving.”
Jets coach Aaron Glenn remains hopeful that the team can turn the tide after starting the season 0-5.
“Every day, I think about how to secure a victory to get things moving in the right direction,” Glenn shared. “We just need that first win. Once we get it, I believe we can build off that momentum.”
Glenn suggested that despite the team’s struggles, there are positives to cling to.
“We’re laying down some foundational elements that aren’t visible to everyone right now,” he remarked. “People see 0-5, but I know things will stabilize, and we will start winning.”
Additionally, cornerback Brandon Stevens was added to the injury report with a neck issue and is questionable for Sunday’s game. RB/KR Kene Nwanwu (hamstring) is expected to participate.
