I think we can all agree that it was 46 minutes of football.
46 minutes: Mbeumo's volley volleys Crossland towards Schade, but he chooses to lock it up rather than heading towards the goal, and Villa erases the chance.
45 minutes: Additional time for 1 minute. That's enough.
43 minutes: Mbeumo breaks through the ball past the Thierremans and appears to be thwarted, but Jared G Waves plays a lot to the frustration of home fans.
41 min: VAR decides that there is no need for further action in a potential handball – whilst Whissa will nick the rebound away from Bailey and the Motors – McGinn swings his arms to defeat him! He booked, and of course.
40 minutes: Brentford has a full wall plus draft exemption, before which the villa has assembled its own dummy wall. Lots of faff and home fans become restless. Leon Bailey eventually takes it and sets fire to Brentford's walls.
39 minutes: So far, annoyed by home defense, Rodgers won a free kick after a clumsy foul from Janelle. A chance for Villa to test Flekken from 25 yards.
38 minutes: Rogers looks for digne with a diagonal ball, but the constantly busy Mbeumo is on hand to intercept him.
