Brett Favre discusses the Kris Boyd shooting

Jets player Kris Boyd shot in New York under investigation

Retired NYPD Lt. Darin Porcher appeared on a morning show to discuss the ongoing search for the individual who shot New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd. He also mentioned his conversation with NYPD Commissioner Zoran Mamdani regarding crime policies.

Kris Boyd was shot early Sunday morning in Midtown Manhattan. Reports indicate he sustained an abdominal injury and has since been hospitalized, currently in serious but stable condition.

Brett Favre, a former Jets quarterback, briefly addressed the incident on his podcast, noting the realities of being a celebrity in a big city. He reflected on the feeling of safety in smaller places like Green Bay compared to New York. “In Green Bay, you might not want to be out at 2 AM, but in New York, it doesn’t feel like a big deal,” he said. The city has a vibrant nightlife with numerous venues.

Favre expressed sympathy for Boyd, saying, “I don’t know this young man, but it’s unfortunate that we’re discussing such incidents more often now. I’m praying for him and his family.”

Police have released a description of the suspect, who they say is a male with medium skin tone. He was last spotted wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt, black pants, multicolored sneakers, and carrying a black backpack.

The identity of the shooter has not yet been disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
