Brewers and Dodgers make unusual trade during the game before thrilling walk-off hit

Brewers Complete Sweep Over Dodgers

The Milwaukee Brewers turned up the heat during the second series ahead of the MLB All-Star Break, achieving a dramatic victory that resulted in a sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Afterward, the Brewers found themselves idling on Thursday, two games behind the division-leading Chicago Cubs in terms of losses. Interestingly, the timing of a trade between the Brewers and Dodgers caught some people off guard.

During the game on Wednesday, the Dodgers announced they had traded outfielder Steward Velour to the Brewers in exchange for cash considerations. This trade had been somewhat anticipated, especially after Velour was recently assigned elsewhere. He even celebrated his major league debut last season with the Toronto Blue Jays before joining the Dodgers in May.

However, Velour didn’t manage to make the jump from the minor league to the big league team while with the Dodgers. He participated in 27 games for their Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Comets, where he collected 11 RBIs and hit one home run. He also had a stint with the Buffalo Bisons, a Triple-A affiliate of the Blue Jays, playing in 25 games there.

Ending a challenging season, Velour had a batting average of .189 with the Blue Jays. In relation to the trade, the Brewers designated right-handed relief pitcher Elvin Rodriguez for the assignment.

On the mound for the Dodgers during Wednesday’s game was Tyler Glasnow, making his first appearance since April 27. Unfortunately for the team, this defeat marked their sixth consecutive loss.
