Brewers Celebrate World Series Title at Lambeau Field
In a remarkable turn of events, less than a day after the Milwaukee Brewers secured their first World Series championship, the team took the celebration north to Lambeau Field, about 120 miles away.
Pitcher Brandon Woodruff made a memorable appearance by bringing the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field during the first quarter of the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Carolina Panthers. He was joined by fellow teammates Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick, who added to the festive atmosphere.
Frelick, in a burst of enthusiasm, attempted his version of the famed Lambeau Leap, which earned cheers from the Packers fans.
Following the Brewers’ thrilling Game 5 win against the Tampa Bay Rays, Milwaukee is preparing for what is expected to be a massive victory parade. Many fans are likely to fill the streets to mark this significant occasion.
To accommodate the celebrations, Milwaukee Public Schools have decided to close on Friday, expressing concerns over operational logistics and safety. It’s somewhat convenient, really, since this will allow students and faculty to join in on the festivities.
The planned parade route will wind through downtown Milwaukee, culminating in a fan fest at Henry Maier Festival Park.
Meanwhile, the Packers might be looking to ride the wave of the Brewers’ success—though it’s worth noting they haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 2010 season. The Brewers’ recent victory, alongside the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 NBA Championship, has put the Packers in a position of having the longest championship drought among the major professional sports teams in Wisconsin.
The Packers, struggling with recent defeats, faced a 3-0 deficit in the first quarter during their game against the Panthers but managed to turn things around, leading 20-10 at halftime and then extending their lead to 27-10 in the third quarter.
