Brewers manager takes a jab following Dodgers' disappointing playoff exit

The Dodgers’ season has come to an end.

After suffering four consecutive losses to the Brewers in the National League Championship Series, their aspirations for a historic third championship have faded. On Thursday night, as Milwaukee celebrated capturing the National League pennant at Dodger Stadium, Brewers manager Pat Murphy took a moment to deliver a rather pointed message to the reigning back-to-back World Series champions.

“They might have a lot of Hall of Famers, but we have a group of gamers, and the gamers came out on top this week,” Murphy stated during the broadcast.

This October has been utterly disastrous for the Dodgers. Following remarkable World Series successes in 2024 and 2025, the magic simply vanished.

The Brewers outplayed LA across the board. Milwaukee showcased superior hitting, elite defense, and outpitched the formidable Dodgers.

The Dodgers’ starting rotation, which included multiple Cy Young winners, All-Stars, and World Series MVPs, ended up with a 6.50 ERA throughout the NLCS. Meanwhile, their lineup—featuring nine players recognized as All-Stars—managed only 4 hits in 27 attempts with runners in scoring position.

Despite assembling one of baseball’s most talented rosters, the Dodgers fell short and will likely be remembered for what could be one of the worst postseason failures in MLB history. They couldn’t secure a single win against the Brewers during the NLCS, even with their star-studded lineup.

Clearly, Milwaukee is savoring its historic sweep of the Dodgers, and Murphy’s remarks will likely resonate as the organization heads into a challenging offseason.
