The Rays haven’t made many friends this season.
After getting into a scuffle with the Blue Jays in March, he played Tuesday night in Milwaukee against the Brewers.
The game started in the 8th inning when the Brewers were leading 8-2 against the Rays when Jose Siri grounded out.
That’s when Milwaukee pitcher Abner Uribe and Siri started biting each other, and the two ended up facing each other before Uribe delivered a vicious right hook that blew Siri’s head off.
Siri tried to turn around but missed, forcing first base umpire Alex McKay, who was trying to keep him away, to duck for cover.
Then, Milwaukee’s Reece Hoskins pushed Siri away to protect the pitcher.
A few more punches were thrown, and the bench and bullpen fell silent as the fans at American Family Field roared from the stands.
Uribe and Siri were eventually separated and dragged off the field by their respective teams.
Uribe and Siri were ejected from the game, along with Brewers manager Pat Murphy and pitcher Freddy Peralta.
It was not immediately clear what the fight between Uribe and Siri happened in the first place.
In the end, the Brewers won the game 8-2.
Tampa recorded its second bench brawl in the past two months after a brawl between Rays infielders. Jose Caballero and Blue Jays pitcher Genesis Cabrera at the beginning of the season.
During that incident, after Caballero hit the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, the two got together and exchanged words.
Eventually, Cabrera pushed Caballero and the bench spilled out.
However, no punches were thrown during that particular altercation.
