A native of Connecticut, Gracie was a theater kid from an early age and earned a Bachelor of Science in Theater from Northwestern University.

Her journey led to her performing the national anthem at Giants and Yankees games, and she has since hosted a reality show. “Tryout” She is also planning to make her debut as an actress in a TV movie scheduled to be released this year.

“I definitely went into that show with a shoulder injury because I was trained in this sport, I was going to do this, I had a special knowledge of this sport, I had to bend over and over again. I think it was because I wanted to,” Gracie said. “The Tryout” centers on the quest to find the best amateur baseball player in America.

“I went into it well prepared. I worked really hard on that project. And I realized then that if I was really going to keep shooting this, I had to have fun with it. It was the first time I had really done something where there was this kind of intersection between what I had been trained to do and the environment I had grown up in.”

Gracie was born in 1998, which was his father’s first year as GM of the Yankees. Her younger brother, Teddy Cashman, is a freshman at Lafayette College and an outfielder for the Leopards.

Pinstripe is the only world Gracie knows.

“It feels weird for my dad to call people he works with, because I’m sure they’ll all be at my wedding,” she said. “They are his only friends and are deeply ingrained in our lives.

“So it’s been really special to do some work for the organization after that, but it was also definitely beneficial to talk about these really special memories.”

Her expulsion from school as an adolescent was repeated when the Yankees won the World Series. It happened four times in her life: in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009.

Spending time with “Uncle Nick” [Swisher]” Trick-or-treating with Mariano Rivera’s kids was a regular activity for Gracie and Teddy.

Gracie doesn’t accept the term “nepo baby”, which refers to children of famous people or famous people achieving success through their parents.

“I think that’s something I grapple with as a person,” she said of proving herself in a certain field because of her name. “I think sometimes you walk into a space where you’re talking about baseball. My dad is in an extraordinary position in terms of success in baseball. So the assumption or perspective that it’s his daughter who walks into the room is… I totally get it, there’s definitely something to prove and that I earned it and deserved to be here and that I worked hard to be here and stay here. You need to prove that you have made an effort.

“The door wasn’t kicked in.” [for me] That didn’t push me away,” Gracie stressed. “And I don’t want it to go unrecognized that I fully understand that those connections exist and influence those decisions. So I’m not blind to it. But , I know that, so I go in and prove that I deserve to be here, and that they made the right choice in choosing me, and that it wasn’t just a fluke of nepotism. I really want to.”

Gracie explained that her father and mother Mary are “very supportive” of her TV career.

“There have been many times over the years where I’ve thought, ‘Maybe this is not it…maybe this is the end.'” [of my career]” she recalled when she suffered damage to her vocal cords, which affected her ability to sing. “And each time, my parents always said, ‘No, this is not the end.’ There is no end.”

Unlike his older brother, Gracie had no interest in playing baseball.

“I played one season of softball when I was in fifth grade, and I was terrible,” she said with a laugh. “I was now 5 feet tall, weighed about 105 pounds, and was playing catch. I was our catcher!

“And there were times when I would miss the ball like I was pitching. I would just drop them. My poor dad, he loved every game and was an assistant coach. They were probably thinking, “My child is the worst child on this team.” And I thought, “I don’t want to do this anymore,” and he said, “You don’t have to.” So he can now live vicariously through Teddy. ”

Gracie currently splits her time between Chicago, where she lives with her boyfriend (also named Brian and “sick and twisted”), and New York for work.

The couple plans to return to New York soon to be closer to her family and work.

Cashman approves, even though her only daughter’s boyfriend is a Chicago Cubs fan.

“Actually, I think it works a little better that way, because he’s not too starry-eyed.” [around my dad]” Gracie said. “His little thing was when we surprised his dad on his dad’s birthday and the team was playing in Boston.

“Brian and I flew out to surprise my dad with an appearance in the Boston series, and Anthony Rizzo was in the hotel lobby. Brian grew up a Cubs fan, so he was a little excited about this. ”

Gracie and her father attended the film’s world premiere. “The story of my number” The exhibit, which opened Monday at the Paley Museum in New York, featured Boone, Swisher and Martinez.

“My Number Stories” delves into the personal meaning behind key numbers in the careers and lives of Yankees icons, with each episode featuring a subject interviewed by Gracie.

Thursday’s debut episode will feature Boone, with episodes released on subsequent Thursdays.

“It’s really interesting and it’s a nice intersection of the numbers and the entertainment aspects,” Gracie said. “This season, we spoke exclusively with Yankees legends about the pivotal numbers in their careers and the pivotal numbers in their personal lives. I used it as a base to start a conversation about something else, a big moment in my career.

“This is a different kind of show than anything I’ve ever seen before, and it’s different than anything I’ve ever worked on, but also unlike anything I’ve ever completed. I mean, the interview subjects we got The lineup was incredible.”
