Brian Daboll joked with Abdul Carter about the request involving Lawrence Taylor during the visit from the Giants legend.

Brian Dabor’s Moment with Abdul Carter and Lawrence Taylor

Brian Dabor hasn’t forgotten the unusual requests made by Abdul Carter.

Recently, the New York Giants shared a fun moment on their official X account, capturing the time Lawrence Taylor visited the team’s facilities alongside Daboll and Carter.

In the video, Dabor humorously asks Carter, “Abdul, do you know this guy?” right as Taylor is introduced.

Taylor took center stage, delivering a speech during his nostalgic visit to the place where he once made his mark.

The exchange hinted at Carter’s aspiration for the Giants to honor Taylor by wearing his famous No. 56 jersey, which has been retired to celebrate Taylor’s remarkable career as a two-time Super Bowl champion.

Carter, the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft from Pennsylvania, shared his admiration for Taylor and sought permission to don the legendary number.

In response, Taylor acknowledged the honor but emphasized that Carter needed to build his own identity. “He has to be his player. He can’t be another Lawrence Taylor. Well, he might actually be better than Lawrence Taylor,” he stated.

Their interaction was marked by mutual respect, highlighted by a handshake when Taylor was introduced and while he addressed the audience.

With an impressive record including 12.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for the Nittany Lions in 2024, Carter is expected to stand out as one of the top defensive rookies in the 2025 NFL season.

As for Taylor, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999, boasting ten Pro Bowl selections and three Defensive Player of the Year titles during his successful 13-year career with the Giants.
