In 10 words, Brian Dabor summed up how he approaches the Giants’ participation in the NFL draft process.
“It’s okay to disagree. You won’t be uncomfortable.”
That’s how the Giants want it to work. As a post-season head coach, Daboll will do his best to keep up with general manager Joe Schoen, the HR department and the scouting staff when it comes to speeding up the expected college players as an NFL prospect.
This year, the Giants are paying particular attention to studying quarterbacks in this draft. Daboll digs in every position, but he considers himself to be an expert on all quarterback-related, and he has a long-standing system of evaluating and evaluating players at that position.
Is there a chance that Daboll would prefer one quarterback over Schoen? Dabour is more bullish with taking quarterback earlier, and is that Shane a chance to wait more willingly? of course. That’s why all these meetings, discussions and road trips take place. Form opinions, hash them out and become consensus. If you need to break a tie, Shane will break it.
“In the end, this decision is up to me,” Shane said last week.
Daboll said:
“The conversation we have is Joe and I have heard a lot of people, and then we have a conversation at the end of the day and choose the players we think are the best for the Giants in New York.”
Russell Wilson agreed to play for the Giants on March 25th, and ever since, he and his model/singer wife Ciara have enjoyed spending time at Madison Square Garden, where he was given a courtside seat to watch the Knicks. They took part in Game 1 of the Knicks Pistons playoff series, and Wilson accepted Jalen Branson after a comeback victory.
“I’ve started to get to know Branson over the last few years,” Wilson said. “A talented player, man. I have a lot of respect for his game.”
Wilson said Knicks performance coach Karl Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and “my man” John Shackleton also know.
“That game the other day was special,” Wilson said. “The fourth quarter was really noteworthy and how did they come back? I think they ran 21-0. What an electric crowd?”
Two members of the 2024 draft class, Te Theo Johnson (Foot) and S Tyler Nubin (ankle), suffered an injury to a stretch run in his rookie season and required surgery. Both players said they are planning on rehabilitation.
