In-Depth Look at Marine Training for 250th Anniversary

Picture this: a bitterly cold Christmas night in 1776. Despite being weary and low on supplies, Washington bravely led his troops across the treacherous icy waters of the Delaware, catching the British off guard in Trenton.

Historian Alex Robb shared insights with Kilmeade, noting that “many of the soldiers had only been in the Army for a short period” and were still grappling with previous defeats.

Robb elaborated on the strategic plan: “The idea was to cross the river on Christmas night and then march about nine miles in darkness to approach Trenton from multiple directions.” The goal was clear—to surprise the British, sealing off the city and clinching a crucial victory.

Washington’s audacious operation shifted the momentum of the war and played an essential role in propelling America towards independence.

Exploring More American Legends

This new season features additional episodes that highlight America’s storied past. Kilmeade will share tales of heroic events, including the significant legacy of Fort Ticonderoga and the famous sites tied to the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the most notorious battles in Civil War history.

He’ll also delve into the intriguing history of the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, a military installation hidden within the Rocky Mountains, which became emblematic during the Cold War, particularly regarding the concerns around nuclear threats.

In this new series, Kilmeade takes viewers through the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, America’s first official presidential library. He sheds light on Roosevelt’s leadership during tumultuous times, from the Great Depression to WWII, and how it shaped America’s future.

For those interested in broadening their knowledge of America’s past, the entire five-episode season is available for viewers.
