Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys files a lawsuit against the sheriff regarding beach trespassing problems

Brian Littrell’s Lawsuit Over Beach Trespassing Issues

Brian Littrell, a member of the Backstreet Boys, has initiated legal action against a Florida county, claiming officials have failed to prevent trespassers from accessing his private beach. He, along with his limited liability company, BLB Beach Hut LLC, has reportedly placed signs around tables, chairs, and umbrellas to indicate the start of his property on the beach, as stated in the lawsuit.

In his complaint, Littrell describes ongoing disturbances, mentioning that many trespassers attempt to intimidate and bully his family on a daily basis. He is urging the sheriff’s department to intervene, seeking a court order for their involvement.

Litrell highlighted that, as a result of these issues, he has had to hire security for his home. He also completed a trespass authorization form, intended for the sheriff’s office to act against intruders on his property.

The lawsuit alleges that despite multiple requests, the sheriff’s department has not enforced the law to remove trespassers or take necessary action. For example, on May 4, a deputy reportedly spoke to a suspected trespasser but failed to take any further steps.

There were also incidents where a trespasser dispersed legal documents from a property manager on the beach. Littrell claims he reached out to the sheriff’s office multiple times that day, yet received no assistance.

He mentions an instance where the 911 operator hung up on BLB’s request for help, rather than sending assistance as requested over an hour prior. The lawsuit portrays a distressing scenario where the sheriff’s office is accused of neglecting its responsibilities to protect private property rights.

Littrell said he purchased the beach house to enjoy peaceful vacations, free from drama. However, he notes that the situation with trespassers has deteriorated over time.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has chosen not to comment on the ongoing lawsuit but emphasizes that they pride themselves on professional interactions in all situations.

Littrell expressed his disappointment in the lack of action from local law enforcement, stating that they have seemingly allowed trespassers to harass him and his family. He feels that their failure to enforce laws is a concerning precedent for property rights in Florida.
