Brian Williams slammed Democrats in a scathing assessment he gave on a late-night talk show Thursday.
“It's insulting that working-class people, who Democrats have completely lost in our lifetimes, claim the economy is doing well.”
The former NBC News anchor made the comments during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and called for a complete change in Democratic Party leadership.
“I think this is a tough time for the Democratic Party. We need to tear it down and rebuild it,” Williams said.
“I think that means a change of leadership. I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea for Joe Biden to stay in office for another four years at 80 years old and with an approval rating of 37%. “People have put the burden on them. It's like a short election period for them,” he added.
Although the Democrats lost the president and the majority in the Senate, the Republicans were able to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives, resulting in a surprising landslide victory.
“I find it insulting that working-class people, who Democrats have completely lost in our lifetime, claim the economy is doing well. Bounty is $40 for a 12-pack. “I think the biggest unforced mistake of the Biden administration so far has been the border issue. It's insulting to tell people it's not an issue,” he added. “It's probably just as insulting to the working class to see immigrants getting welcome bags and debit cards and motel rooms. So there's a lot of work to be done.”
Williams' 28-year career at NBC was marred by several exaggerations and outright lies recorded in his reporting. He last signed the bill in December 2021, warning of growing divisions in the United States.
“While the rest of America is eating Cracker Barrel, their cohort is obsessed with quinoa,” he concluded.
