Recently, a bride walked down the aisle by herself because her mother didn't arrive on time.
A newlywed took to Reddit for advice after her wedding was a disaster because several family members were late.
“My wedding day started like any other day. I [the bride] “We've been getting ready and the finishing touches are being made outside,” she wrote in a blog post on August 27. Social media posts.

She continued: “Even though we were almost ready by midday, my mother had to run back to the hotel 20 minutes away to get changed and join my grandmother and a family friend.”
With a strict 2pm start time for the ceremony, the bride said the group was running a little late, but not enough to change the schedule of the day's events.

“The ceremony continued and ended in a flash.”

The bride said the three wedding guests arrived 45 minutes later.

The bride simply replied, “The invitation said 2 o'clock,” and the wedding officiant said the schedule was tight because there was another ceremony after hers.
At the end of her Reddit post, the bride says she later found out her mother was late to the wedding because she “wasn't finished getting ready.”

Someone should have called the mother and “asked her where she was and why she was late,” Jacqueline Whitmore, a Florida-based etiquette expert, told Fox News Digital.
She added, “Many weddings get a little delayed due to various issues, so if my mother and grandmother were a few minutes late, it wouldn't have been a big deal to wait for them to come back.”

She also stressed the importance of punctuality at weddings.
“A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so it seems a bit extreme to exclude important family members just to start on time,” she said.

Another Reddit user agreed, writing, “I would never postpone the wedding for my mom. You never know when someone like her will come along. You have to move on with your life.”
