Tragic Death of Influencer During Childbirth

A 32-year-old influencer from Southern California, known for her budget wedding, has sadly passed away during childbirth.

Chiara Brokenbrough, the bride who famously spent just $47 on her wedding dress and a total of $500 for the entire ceremony, died due to complications related to her son, as reported by her family.

The West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has yet to confirm the official cause of her death. Chiara was in the process of returning to California at the time.

To support her husband, Joel, and their newborn son, Jonah, Chiara’s mother-in-law started a GoFundMe campaign. They have managed to raise $120,000 of their $150,000 goal.

In their statement, they mentioned, “This tragedy has been devastating to Joel. He will need support—physical, mental, spiritual, and financial—from family, friends, and the kindness of strangers.”

As Joel begins an unimaginable journey as a single parent to a premature baby in the NICU, he faces the added heartache of losing his beloved wife. He needs all the support he can get during this difficult time.

While the baby was originally due in June, it’s unclear if Chiara’s death led to the premature birth, or if complications from the early delivery contributed to her passing.

Fortunately, the premature babies are reportedly making “remarkable progress” in the NICU. Joel confirmed his wife’s death via an Instagram Story post on April 13th, stating, “My beautiful, God-fearing, worshiping wife is home and in the presence of the Lord.”

The couple gained attention four years ago due to their $500 wedding, which they held in the scenic Angeles Crest Highway area. They kept their guest list small, inviting about 30-40 people and relying on friends and family for assistance, which included a $200 arch for the ceremony. Joel’s suit set them back around $100, and guests brought their own food and drinks for the casual reception.
