Brigitte Bardot Hospitalized, Now Recovering at Home
Brigitte Bardot, at the age of 91, is back at home recuperating after a recent hospital visit due to an unspecified illness.
Reports indicate that Bardot’s office has informed Agence France-Presse (AFP) that she underwent a minor surgical procedure and is reportedly recovering well. She was treated at the Saint-Jean private hospital located in Toulon.
We’ve tried to reach out to Bardot’s representatives for further comments.
This isn’t the first health scare for Bardot; earlier this year, she faced some breathing difficulties during a heatwave in Saint-Tropez.
Iconic Actress and Cultural Icon
Bardot, often hailed as a sex symbol, shot to fame with her role in the 1956 film “And God Created Woman.” A scene where she dances atop a table scandalized audiences and solidified her status as one of the world’s most attractive women. To date, she has appeared in 48 films and released numerous songs, while also capturing the hearts of many through her relationships.
Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Bardot became one of the most beloved actresses, working with renowned directors like Jean-Luc Godard and Louis Malle. Her standout films include “La Vérité,” “Le Mépris,” and “Viva Maria!”
In 1996, Bardot published her memoir, “Initiales BB,” where she recounted her three marriages and encounters with notable personalities such as Warren Beatty and Pablo Picasso.
A Turn from the Spotlight
Interestingly, Bardot made the decision to step away from the limelight when she was at the peak of her fame. According to James Clarke, an author and expert on Bardot, she simply felt she had enough. Bardot reportedly expressed that after two decades in the industry, she had accomplished what she set out to do. Over the years, she has preferred to maintain a private life, not entirely reclusive, but definitely more reserved.
