British ambassador calls on US and Ukraine to meet again

US British ambassador, Lord Peter Mandelson, said he believes the US and Ukraine need to meet again to begin negotiations.

Mandelson joined ABC News' “This Week” on Sunday to discuss the failed meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky.

“My answer is that a very radical reset is necessary,” he said, adding that “the reset must consist of the US and Ukraine returning to the same page.”

His comments came as ceasefire negotiations and rare minerals plans between the United States, Ukraine and Russia. The Trump and Zelensky meeting ended short as they rejected a deal and claimed the world and shocked it.

Mandelson has proven that Zelensky supports the amendment with Trump and has “clear support” for Trump's proposed plan.

He also called on Europe to support the ceasefire plan, saying that Ukraine should first commit to a ceasefire and allow Russia to follow.

Mandelson also called on Europe to place troops on the ground in Ukraine to support lasting peace.

“Now, that's the rest we're looking for,” he said. “That's what the British Prime Minister is working at his meeting held in London today.”
