British equestrian star Georgie Campbell dead at 37 after falling during competition

British equestrian Star athlete George Campbell died on Sunday after a “fatal accident” while competing, officials confirmed in a statement. He was 37 years old.

British Eventing, the governing body for British eventing, released a statement on Sunday acknowledging Campbell’s tragic death in an accident. Bicton International Equestrian Championships On the weekend.

“It is with deep regret that we announce that George Campbell (GBR) suffered a fatal accident on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 whilst competing at the Bicton International Equestrian Show in Devon, England,” the statement read.

“Medical professionals rushed to the scene immediately after her fall at fence 5b but unfortunately were unable to save her.”

Details about the accident were not immediately available. Authorities said the horse, Global Quest, was not injured in the accident.

“To respect the family’s privacy at this extremely difficult and sad time, no further details will be released,” British Eventing added.

according to BBC, Campbell competed in over 200 events.

She is married to fellow equestrian Jesse Campbell, who will represent New Zealand at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
