British police have announced that they have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with two stabbing incidents that occurred in Bournemouth, England on Friday night.
Two women were stabbed on Durley Chine beach at approximately 11.42pm on Friday. In a press release on Saturday, Dorset Police said a 17-year-old boy from Lancashire was arrested shortly after the stabbings occurred.
A 34-year-old woman was found dead at the scene, and a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital with “serious injuries,” authorities said.
Both women were residents of Poole, about eight miles east of Bournemouth, whose coastline is a popular tourist destination and often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in Britain, according to the town’s government website.

Superintendent Richard Dixie said in a statement that authorities had been “investigating the stabbing around the clock throughout the night.”
“There is no point in speculating as to why this tragedy occurred,” the official said, and promised to deploy additional police to the area.
“I would like to assure the residents of Dorset, and the many people visiting the county over the bank holiday weekend, that we are using all investigative tools to discover the motive behind this terrible incident,” the detective said.
