British teenager promises to continue Charlie Kirk's work despite facing severe opposition

Conservative Activist Attacked at London School of Economics

A 17-year-old British conservative activist, known online as ‘Young Bob’, has reported receiving death threats and being violently attacked while supporting Turning Point UK’s ideals. This incident occurred on November 20 at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was invited by the university’s Conservative Association to speak about the importance of social conservatism in Britain.

Thomas Moffitt recounted that, initially, attendees were engaged in productive conversations, taking photos and participating in meaningful discussions. However, things took a turn when a group of masked activists attempted to disrupt their event by trying to seize their materials and using megaphones to protest.

He noted that some protesters were also mocking the death of Charlie Kirk, a prominent figure in conservative youth politics and founder of Turning Point USA, while trying to push the group off campus. Moffitt remarked, “In their eyes, it must have looked like they were about to perform some kind of humiliating ritual. We are continuing Charlie’s fight here in the UK.”

Criticizing the protesters, Moffitt described their chants as a demoralizing way to mock Kirk’s death, who, tragically, was shot earlier this year while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Despite the aggressive atmosphere, Moffitt remains determined to grow the movement inspired by Kirk’s work. He emphasized that Turning Point UK has faced violence and intimidation from the beginning. He recalled numerous threats while advocating for issues like abortion, transgender rights, and immigration, sharing that he’s experienced attacks such as being hit with urine-filled bottles and enduring social media death threats.

“There have been several times in Speaker’s Corner, which serves as a free marketplace for ideas regarding religion and politics, where a man has threatened to kill me with a knife,” he added. “I have been physically assaulted multiple times.”

Unfazed by the hostility, Moffitt is committed to expanding the conservative message in his region. He believes that leveraging the momentum from Kirk’s legacy could lead to a stronger Turning Point UK. “We need conservatism in the West, so wherever we are, we must continue the fight,” he emphasized. And, perhaps one day, he hopes to connect with Kirk’s widow to express his gratitude for the inspiration he derives from their work.
