Britney Spears criticizes Kevin Federline for misleading her with his book.

Britney Spears has responded to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, claiming he cheated on her multiple times in passages from her memoir detailing their short-lived marriage.

In a message posted on X, Spears expressed, “The ongoing gaslighting from my ex is incredibly hurtful and draining.” Her comments come alongside excerpts from Federline’s upcoming book, which will be released soon.

“I’ve always hoped and pleaded for my sons to live with me,” she shared, reflecting on the challenges of maintaining relationships with teenage boys. “It’s disheartening, honestly. I’ve constantly asked, really begged, for them to be involved in my life.”

Spears accused Federline of causing their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to witness “a consistent lack of respect for themselves.” She added, “To me, he’s their father, and we all need to take responsibility as adults.”

The pop star also revealed that one son had only spent “45 minutes with me over the past year,” while the other had seen her “four times in five years.”

“I have pride too,” the 43-year-old singer remarked. “From now on, I’ll inform them when I’m available. Trust me, the fabrications in that book? They’ll go straight to the bank, and I’m the one left hurt.”

She concluded her social media statement with a heartfelt message to her sons. “I will always love them. If you truly knew me, the tabloids about my mental state or drinking wouldn’t matter,” she wrote.

Spears emphasized her intelligence, stating, “I’ve spent the past five years trying to lead a sacred and private life. I address this because I’ve been through a lot, and any real woman would do the same.”

Federline’s representatives had not responded to requests for comments as of Wednesday evening.

His book, titled *You Thought You Knew*, is set to release on October 21. Despite this, Federline, 47, has already shared some controversial excerpts. One such claim mentions that their sons allegedly woke up to see Spears standing silently at their door.

Regarding his concerns for his children, Federline mentioned in an interview that he worries about Spears’s “erratic behavior.” “As their father, I truly fear that one day I’ll find my sons facing something unimaginable,” he discussed with Entertainment Tonight.

He also alleged that Spears reached out to her ex, Justin Timberlake, just before their wedding in 2004.

Spears’ team pushed back against these claims, asserting that the publicity surrounding Federline’s book allows him and others to take advantage of her situation.

Over the years, Spears has been required to pay Federline $20,000 monthly in child support until their youngest son turned 18. At one point, this figure had reached $40,000 when their sons lived with her in Hawaii.

Federline secured custody after Spears faced several public struggles in the mid-2000s, leading to her being placed under a conservatorship that lasted for 13 years until its end in 2021.

Spears isn’t the only one vocal about Federline’s book. In August, her former husband Sam Asghari criticized Federline in a statement to TMZ.

Asghari shared his thoughts on Federline’s upcoming memoir, joking, “Well, he was a professional father.” He humorously added that it might be “the first book that teaches how to be a professional father.”

Federline brushed off Asghari’s remarks, suggesting that every dad should aspire to achieve that “professional” standard.
