Brock Purdy Highlights Samaritan's Purse with NFL Cleats Initiative

49ers’ Brock Purdy Supports Charity with Custom Cleats

During the San Francisco-Carolina game on Monday night, fans might have spotted players sporting custom cleats. Notably, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy wore shoes to promote Samaritan’s Purse, a charity that resonates with him.

A total of 38 players from the 49ers participated, all donning special cleats as part of the NFL’s My Cause, My Cleats campaign. This initiative enables players, coaches, and staff to highlight various causes or nonprofits through uniquely designed footwear that showcases their organization’s logo.

This year’s campaign runs during Weeks 12 and 13, beginning over the Thanksgiving weekend. After the games, the cleats will be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting the players’ chosen charities.

This marks the second consecutive year Purdy has supported Samaritan’s Purse, which is known for providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid globally. The ministry is also recognized for its Operation Christmas Child Shoebox initiative, sending gifts to children in over 100 countries.

Purdy spoke about his engagement with the organization in a video on the 49ers’ official Instagram page. “This is important to me because many people in our country are experiencing natural disasters. It’s crucial to have programs that help and bring hope to those affected. I really care about the people in this country, so being able to give back in some way means a lot.”

Franklin Graham, the CEO of Samaritan’s Purse, expressed gratitude toward Purdy for his support. He shared his excitement on Instagram, saying, “I hope @Brock.Purdy13 does well in tonight’s game. I love watching him play! We’re thankful that Brock highlighted the work of @SamaritansPurse through their #MyCauseMyCleats initiative. Look out for those cleats!”

Purdy had previously chosen Samaritan’s Purse as a means to aid victims of Hurricane Helen in 2024. “I looked at organizations that are genuinely helping on the ground. Samaritan’s Purse fits that bill,” he noted last year, hoping to raise funds for hurricane relief.

Purdy is recognized as one of the more vocal Christians in the NFL. In the game, the 49ers emerged victorious against the Panthers, with a score of 20-9, in a matchup broadcasted on ESPN.
