Broncos' Jonathon Cooper criticizes Chiefs after team secures AFC West title

Broncos Secure AFC West Title

On Saturday night, Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper significantly impacted the Kansas City Chiefs’ challenging season.

With the Broncos clinching the AFC West title for the first time since 2015, it came after the Los Angeles Chargers suffered a loss to the Houston Texans. The Chiefs, dominant in the division since 2016, had seen both Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes lead them during that timeframe.

Cooper didn’t hold back his feelings about the Chiefs, posting a blunt message on X, saying, “F–chiefs, th–they made pansies.”

Over the last three seasons, Cooper has been a standout player for the Broncos’ defense. He’s maintained a clean record — not missing a game since 2022 — and has tallied eight sacks along with 49 tackles this season. His contributions have been crucial in establishing Denver’s defense as one of the top units throughout the year.

As it stands, the Broncos rank third in both points and yards allowed this season. They improved their record to 13-3 after defeating Kansas City on Thursday night, marking the first time since 2013 that the team reached a 13-win season. Interestingly, that year, under John Fox, the Broncos reached the Super Bowl, though they ultimately lost to the Seattle Seahawks.

Looking ahead, the Broncos are aiming to replicate the success of 2015 rather than 2013 as they prepare for the upcoming playoffs.
