Garrett Boles Takes Action Against Wildfires in Colorado
Garrett Boles, an offensive lineman for the Denver Broncos, has devoted himself to protecting the things that matter to him. He recently joined forces with USAA and Team Lubicon to help safeguard Colorado’s Eagle Next Ranch from wildfires.
The ranch plays a vital role, providing care for military veterans dealing with PTSD. Having grown up in a wildfire-prone area of Utah, Boles spent the day clearing brush and debris to create a protective buffer around the facility. He emphasized the importance of this work, stating, “Colorado is notorious for wildfires, one of the deadliest spots in the country,” and aims to ensure that veterans can find peace without the looming threat of wildfires.
“It’s not just about my job as an athlete; it’s about being part of the community,” Boles reflected. “We need to protect this beautiful ranch so veterans can come here and relax.” He feels a strong connection to the military community, reflecting on his own family’s legacy and the responsibility he feels to give back.
Shifting gears, Boles turns his focus to his role with the Broncos as they prepare for the upcoming season. Coming off a playoff appearance in his ninth year, he admitted there have been many ups and downs throughout his career but is looking forward to the future. Boles noted the team’s recent changes in coaching staff and players, and he’s keen to build on their previous successes as they strive for a Super Bowl win.
Boles is also adjusting to being a veteran leader, mentoring the younger players while ensuring he protects his quarterback. He said, “Sometimes I give a little nudge, saying, ‘You’ve got this!’ It’s a mutual support system.” He believes the young talent could indeed spark a revival for the Broncos, drawing on past glories.
