Broncos swiftly address unusual Aaron Rodgers story

Aaron Rodgers Rumors and Broncos Quarterback Situation

This week, there was at least one noteworthy development concerning Aaron Rodgers’ future.

With ongoing speculation about whether the future Hall of Famer has another season left, particularly with the Broncos, reporters quickly addressed the situation. They pushed back against a report from Pro Football Talk suggesting that “there’s talk about the Broncos potentially bringing Rodgers in for a visit.”

Nick Kosmider of The Athletic stated, “Aaron Rodgers isn’t coming to Denver for a visit. When the Broncos kick off OTAs, they’ll be led by Bo Nix. Go figure,” in a post on X, which amusingly happens to be April Fool’s Day.

Zach Stevens of DNVR Sports added, “There’s a ‘less than zero percent’ chance of Aaron Rodgers visiting the Broncos.” He also emphasized that the story was completely false. Similarly, Mike Klis of 9News remarked that “sources say there is a ‘zero percent’ chance of this happening.”

The buzz surrounding Rodgers, who is 42, comes as Denver’s starting quarterback, Bo Nix, is recovering from a season-ending ankle injury. Nix got hurt back in January during a game against the Bills, which the Broncos won 33-30.

Meanwhile, backup Jarrett Stidham stepped in but faced a tough 10-7 loss to the Patriots in the AFC Championship. Coach Sean Payton, speaking at the NFL meeting in Arizona, mentioned that Nix is recovering faster than anticipated.

Organized Team Activities (OTAs) typically happen around May and June. The Broncos are looking to build on a robust 14-3 regular season, which secured them the top seed in the AFC.

In another corner of the conference, the Steelers are waiting for word on whether Rodgers will return. The four-time league MVP spent the 2025 season in Pittsburgh, where he led the team to a 10-7 finish and a playoff berth, throwing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

The Steelers are hoping for clarity from their quarterback before the 2026 NFL Draft, which kicks off on April 23rd.
