Brooke Hanlon's spouse hires attorney during investigation of stabbing in Chester, NJ

Police Seek Public Assistance in New Jersey Mother’s Murder

Authorities in New Jersey are reaching out for help regarding the murder of Brooke Hanlon, a 35-year-old mother discovered stabbed to death in her Chester home on June 6. As of now, there have been no arrests or named suspects, and the investigation continues. Interestingly, her family has chosen to remain quiet, possibly to ensure the case remains intact. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police.

In another development, it has been confirmed that Connor Hanlon, Brooke’s husband, has retained legal counsel as the investigation progresses. Detectives from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office reported that he has been in touch with them since his wife’s death.

Brooke was discovered by the coroner, who noted “multiple sharp force injuries” as the cause, according to official reports. It’s a tragic situation that has left many in the community unsettled.

Records show that a 911 call was made from the home at 4:29 PM, initially labeled as a “cardiac or respiratory arrest.” Just 13 minutes later, a dispatcher noted it as a “suspicious death.” Detectives were informed shortly thereafter, and investigative efforts were observed at the home for several days following the initial call. It’s puzzling how quickly things escalated from a medical emergency to a homicide investigation.

Family members are reportedly being consulted by investigators as they navigate through this horrifying situation, but there’s been no clarity on how cooperative the husband has been. It’s a difficult spot for everyone involved, as the sister of the victim shared that their family is living through a “nightmare” a month after the event.

At this point, no charges have been filed against Connor Hanlon, and it remains uncertain who his attorney is. Meanwhile, authorities continue to pursue leads in this ongoing investigation.
